This writer had the privilege of seeing some of the creative process that went into Klip Collective’s sprawling, ambitious Nightscape project for Longwood Gardens before it debuted last year. And what was telling about this gorgeous suite of nighttime projection installations from the start — and how you knew it’d be a hit — was the way it was so well and truly out of the comfort zone of both Klip Collective, known for brilliant but more contained pieces, and Longwood Gardens, known for being a beautiful (if previously kind of stuffy) holding zone for nature’s botanical wonders.

Nightscape, as you may well know, turned out to be greater than the sum of its parts, and this year, it’s back, with its original program updated and augmented with still more installations. It opens on August 3rd and will run through October 29th, and will be utterly majestic throughout.
