Behold, the still-newish and great Martha: If there's a nicer place to be in the present-day greater Fishtown/Kensington Gentrified Land Mass, by all means, show it to me. The space is... spacious, the staff is friendly, the bar game is on point, and there's hoags. It may also be worth noting that they're generous. This Tuesday, on the night when they'd usually be closed, Martha is instead opening up its bar and kitchen to three up-and-comers still in the larval pop-up stage: Barman Nathan Churchill, just in from a cross-country motorcycle journey, square pan pizza experimentalist Daniel Gutter (look at these things, just look at them), and Betsy Spivak on the "roadside snacks" tip. Plus, there'll be a fire going. On a Tuesday night in late November Philly, you could do much, much worse. So don't.
