Luxuriate In This Short Film Of The Italian Market At Dawn

Luxuriate In This Short Film Of The Italian Market At Dawn

As of this writing, the streets of Philadelphia are relatively emptier and getting more so every hour, and if you have been out and on them, you know that it is a very strange feeling indeed. If you’re a center city resident, you will recognize it only from Christmas Day and, say, 3AM on a cold February night. It is novel, but also a little scary.

All of which is to say: We miss the bustle, and we certainly miss the hustle, already. The epitome of it all for us is the 9th Street Italian Market, captured beautifully at dawn last summer in this short film by Navy Blue Films. The Market, God bless it, is now still partially functional — please check in with all your favorites to see if they’re open/delivering, as any support means a lot right now  — but we long for the day, even this early in, to experience it whole once again.

For now, we’ll just linger for a moment. We’ll be back soon, we know it. We’ll all be back.

In fact, we’re here right now.
