Better still, the vibe was great — we walked up and down the stretch twice, with people literally ass to elbow, and not a single bad vibe was to be had. Is this what Philadelphia Memorial Day 1983 was like?

3. MVP status: Connie’s Ric Rac, those pineapple pina coladas, #icecoldperonis, and the Friendly Lounge as perfect pit stop. 

4. Johnny Showcase & The Mystic Ticket played “Let’s Go Crazy,” and it was well received indeed.

5. But there was also some “Peter Piper” too. And for that, we were grateful indeed.
